Furoshiki

Furoshiki (風呂敷) are traditional Japanese packing cloths used for carrying clothing, gifts, and similar items. They first appeared in traditional Japanese baths during the mid-Nara period. To prevent bathers' belongings from getting mixed up, clothes were tied together with furoshiki.

Those who are attached to traditions Shibari Those interested still widely use furoshiki for carrying and storing ropes. With its wide range of tying techniques, furoshiki can be used in many areas of daily life, such as bags, bundles, headbands, gift wrapping, tablecloths, etc. They can be produced in many sizes and fabric types.
